Role:

  • Work with the Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure requirements captured are of high quality and have clear and testable acceptance criteria
  • To test systems and software by developing and executing test cases and test scripts in accordance with specific project requirements
  • To Develop automated tests
  • To process the test results and liaise with other project personnel to ensure that software and systems meet customer and project requirements
  • To clearly document any faults/bugs with sufficient detail and test data to help reproduce the issues found during the course of all test phases and report them to Test/Dev Managers
  • Track progress and provide test metrics and reports required to support the Test Manager/Development Manager
  • To search for root cause of issues and push for continuous improvement in both the efficiency and quality of testing and development process
  • To manage personal training requirements in liaison with line manager
  • To Assist Test/Dev Manager in setting up and developing Test Practice within the team to ensure a high quality approach to development and testing is achieved
  • To Assist Test/Dev Manager in providing test estimates, developing and maintaining Manual and Automated Regression test artefacts
  • Ensure proper traceability, version control and configuration management of all test objects developed
  • To Assist Test/Dev Manager in setting up and developing of the non-functional testing requirements and tests (performance, stress, resilience, load etc.)
  • To contribute proactively in developing and maintaining test standards, tools and adopting industry best practices to improve overall testing practice within the team
  • Provide support and knowledge transfer to other members of the team

 

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science or similar, Certification in ISTQB/ISEB
  • Excellent experience in developing Test Cases using Functional Specification documents
  • Excellent understanding of the waterfall, agile principles, iterative software development lifecycle
  • Excellent experience of delivering on System Test, Integration Test, UAT and Regression Test phases
  • Excellent communication and inter personal skills
  • Good experience of setting up and running non-functional testing
  • Ability to work effectively with technical development, business stakeholders and third parties
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience of working in software development projects
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ Experience using TFS/VSTS/Microsoft Test Manager
  • 3+ years of automation test development experience using, Nunit/WatiN/MSTest/xUnit frameworks, Specflow, Gherkin, Selenium Web driver
  • Excellent Ability to articulate themselves fully when discussing quality in the software delivery life cycle and understand the role test automation plays in Waterfall, Agile, TDD and BDD environments

 Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in Insurance/Re-Insurance/Banking domain
  • Experience using Wiki/Confluence to create and maintain documentation
  • Experience with HP LoadRunner/Performance Centre, HP QTP/UFT, JMeter advantageous
  • Experience of API testing
  • Experience of testing Micro Services, SOA applications
  • Experience Testing applications in Microsoft Azure Cloud
  • Experience Testing migration from TFS to VSTS
